Celebrities are used to getting dressed up for big events and having all eyes on be on them, but it's still a major deal to be in the spotlight as a father or mother of the bride or groom. These A-listers got all gussied up to stand beside their children on the happiest days of their lives — and shared photos from the big day to give us plenty of outfit and decor inspiration (and perhaps a little "awww" factor).

Jaclyn Smith

Actress Jaclyn Smith took a spin around the dance floor with son Gaston Richmond to Stevie Wonder's "You Are the Sunshine of My Life" during the mother/son dance on Richmond's July 2023 wedding day.

"Just seeing him so completely happy is the best thing a mother can wish for," Smith told PEOPLE. "I’m so endlessly proud of my son Gaston and am wishing him and Bonnie a lifetime of happiness."

Gene Simmons

The KISS frontman was ready to rock and roll all night at daughter Sophie's wedding to James Henderson. And Sophie, herself a musician, paid tribute to her special relationship with her rocker dad by writing a song called "Daddy's Girl" for their father-daughter dance.

Jeff Bridges

In September of 2021, the actor released an update on his cancer diagnosis in which he also revealed his youngest daughter, Hayley Roselouise Bridges, had married.

After contracting COVID-19, Bridges said he needed oxygen assistance while walking. But once Hayley's wedding approached, he pushed himself to accomplish a milestone.

"I had a goal—walking my daughter Hayley down the aisle," he wrote on his website. "She was getting married to a wonderful guy, Justin Shane. Thanks to Zach [Wermers, physical therapist] and my terrific medical team, I was able to, not only walk Hay down the aisle, but do the father/bride dance with her without oxygen."

His post included video of the tender dance, and months later, Brides shared stunning images from the big day.

Jane Seymour

The star traveled to Seoul for the wedding of her son Kris to his bride Miso and shared happy moments from the ceremony, including this photo with the bride and groom, plus her son Johnny and his girlfriend Zipporah — as well as a video of her sons performing "A Thousand Years" together.

Jamie Lee Curtis

For her daughter Ruby's cosplay-theme wedding to her new spouse Kynthia, the actress officiated wearing the costume of the World of Warcraft character Jaina Proudmoore, picked out for her by the couple.

Ron Howard

The proud dad reflected on his daughter Paige's wedding day with a touching post on Instagram.

"Our Paigey looked like the flower goddess she truly is in one of the most beautiful gowns I have ever seen," he captioned a photo of himself officiating in front of Paige and her now-husband Tim Abou-Nasr. "Thank you for aligning your magic so perfectly with hers @heracouture ! Groom @timmyabou was looking great as well & it was an unparalleled highlight for me to officiate."

Paige married actor and artist Abou-Nasr in Central Park, New York on May 1. Her father officiated the ceremony and her sister, actress Bryce Dallas Howard, was a bridesmaid.

Josh Brolin

The actor celebrated his daughter Eden on her wedding day with a sweet picture of the two of them having a moment in a car, Eden in her bridal finery and Brolin in a cowboy hat and suit.

"When your daughter gets married it all shows up: the memories, a life lived (or not), and how certain relationships resonate," he wrote on Instagram in a poetic reflection on his daughter's big day. "My son and my daughters are happy, contented. All the greatest gifts have no form, and sit there waiting to be acknowledged."

Ringo Starr

The Beatles drummer's son Zak Starkey, also a musician, tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Sharna "Sshh" Liguz on the day their daughter Luna turned 1. Starr was on hand to "give away" his son (while Eddie Vedder served as best man!).

Diane Keaton

For her daughter Dexter's wedding to love Jordan White, the actress was true to her signature style, wearing a cream linen pantsuit with flat-brim hat and chunky boots. She shared a snap of the big day (at about 0:14) in a birthday tribute video to son Duke.

Jimmy Kimmel

The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host took his daughter Katie for a twirl for the classic father-daughter dance at her September wedding.

Appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show after the nuptials, Kimmel confirmed he was indeed a fan of his new son-in-law.

"People ask that too, like, 'How's the guy?' And I'll tell you, the guy is great. His name is Will and he's a great guy," he explained. "And if he wasn't, he'd be dead right now."

"That's how we operate in my family," he joked.

Al Roker

Cheers! The Today show star was all smiles at his daughter Courtney's June wedding, posting a touching tribute before the weekend began.

"On this #tbt❤️ I am marveling at how fast time flies," Roker wrote, sharing a childhood shot of Courtney as well as a more recent photo with his daughter. "Seems like yesterday @ouichefroker was this little girl and tomorrow she's getting married. Al and Isabel Roker would have been so proud of their granddaughter."

Ree Drummond

The Pioneer Woman recently added another bullet to her packed resume: mother of the bride! The Food Network star's daughter Alex got married at the family's Oklahoma ranch in May (and the MOB wore Jovani).

Naturally, the tented event was catered by Ree's restaurant, the Mercantile, in their hometown of Pawhuska, Neb.

Terri Irwin

Bindi Irwin knows her late father Steve was there in spirit on her special day.

Barbra Streisand & James Brolin

The couple attended the wedding of Brolin's daughter Molly, and naturally, the stepmother of the bride was impeccably accessorized. "It's a great picture taken by my daughter-in-law @KathrynBrolin," the superstar wrote on an Instagram post sharing it as a throwback.

Stephen Baldwin

The actor walked his daughter Hailey down the aisle at her September 2019 wedding to Justin Bieber.

Speaking with TMZ before the big day, Stephen shared why it was important for the couple to have a religious wedding following their 2018 courthouse ceremony.

"I just think that as Christians and as believers they understand that if you don't have God's spirit working in your marriage it just makes it more and more difficult to make it work and have peace and find happiness," he said.

"Weddings and marriage are supposed to be a holy commitment, one onto another," the father of the bride added.

Susan Lucci

The actress wore a brightly colored strapless gown for son Andreas Huber's wedding (and hopefully, wished him better luck in love than her All My Children character Erica Kane had!).

Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus

The "Midnight Sky" singer took a page from her parents' book when she wed Liam Hemsworth in December 2018, saying "I do" in the living room of her home in Franklin, Tennessee, just like Tish and Billy Ray had done 25 years prior. The couple also honored the parents of the bride by tying the knot five days before the Cyrus' anniversary.

After less than a year of marriage, Miley and Hemsworth called it quits, in a divorce finalized a little more than a year later.

Meryl Streep

The Oscar-winning actress stepped into the role of a lifetime – mother of the bride! – when her daughter Grace Gummer wed Mark Ronson in September.

"Forever and ever yours ❤️" the DJ wrote in a loving tribute, announcing their marriage.

Gayle King

In February 2021, he CBS anchor shared the happy news on her show in February that her daughter Kirby wed Virgil Miller in December 2020.

The intimate ceremony was held at the home of Kirby's godmother, Oprah Winfrey.

At the time, King said she was "over the moon" for her daughter and new son-in-law. "Kirby really is so happy, and nothing beats when your children are happy," she told Oprah Magazine.

Susan Sarandon

The Thelma & Louise star was thrilled to be the mother of the bride when her daughter Eva Amurri got married in October 2011 – and even happier to stay out of planning!
