Here come the Lipstick Bounty Hunters: Middle-aged women may face charges after 'breaking suspect's nose and blinding him in one eye' in an Arby's restaurant

A group of women calling themselves the 'Lipstick Bounty Hunters' may face charges after a man claimed he was assaulted and blinded in one eye as they tried to take him into custody. 

Daniel Duvall, 35, had been released on bond amid drug and weapon charges when the bounty hunters came after him at an Arby's restaurant in Huntington Beach, California. 

Duvall claims that he was shot in the eye with a rubber bullet, had his nose broken and was repeatedly tased during the March 18 struggle, which was recorded on video and posted online.

Teresa Golt, owner of the Lipstick Bounty Hunters, says she and her partners were only doing a job they were hired to do after Duvall paid just $1,000 of the $5,000 bail bond he owed. She says he paid with a closed account, so the payment never went through.

Golt and her partners were hired by the bail bondsmen to apprehend Duvall, she said.

Golt recorded the video of the encounter and posted it on YouTube,  as she does with all of the bounty hunters' attempted arrests, she told ABC News.

Duvall's attorney, Dan Gilleon, says the women were out of line. 

'It is like the Wild, Wild West in California as it relates to bounty hunters – and these are some out-of- control female bounty hunters that are being negligent,' Gilleon told ABC. 'My client was shot in the right eye and can’t see. They think this is a lawless business, but it isn’t. It is assault and battery.'

Golt recorded the video of the encounter and posted it on YouTube, as she does with all of the bounty hunters' attempted arrests

Gilleon said his client has suffered a broken nose and is now permanently blind in his right eye, where he was allegedly shot with a rubber bullet.

He says the bounty hunters are out to get fame and money by posting videos of their encounters online. 

'These women are far from legitimate, far from competnent, they are just simply women wearing pink with video cameras in hand trying to promote themsleves,' Gilleon said. 

Gilleon claims that Duvall's original bond was actually for $100,000 with a premium of $10,000. He said Duvall was only forced to pay $1,000.

Duvall was eventually apprehended by the Lipstick Bounty Hunters on Tuesday night in his home and he was later released again on bond.

Golt says more force should have used against Duvall during the initial attempt to arrest him.

'I believe we didn’t use enough force, because if we had he would have never gotten away,' she said.

She said that Duvall was never pepper-sprayed, as he claims.
